Telehealth and Online Services

We are excited to announce the launch of telehealth peer support services at Bridging the Gap! Our program strives to create youth-centered and trauma-informed spaces where young people can learn and grow together. During this challenging time, these spaces are more important than ever and BTG is here for you to offer support without judgment.

We invite you to be a part of our growing virtual community where young people can connect with peers, share ideas about how to cope with challenges, receive support, and above all have fun. Peer support, groups and workshops are available to teens and young adults between the ages 14-25. We will work with you to find safe ways to get connected via phone or web. Email us at BridgingTheGap@jbfcs.org or complete the form below to get started.

Youth Services

1:1 Mentorship

Youth Development Specialists provide one-to-one mentorship and support in a confidential and judgment-free zone.

Our mentors have experienced some of the same experiences and challenges that you might be facing and will listen and provide support to help you create a path to health and wellness on your own terms.

Mentorship sessions are held weekly to monthly, depending on youth’s needs, and phone and text support can be provided during program hours (9:30AM-6PM).

Job Readiness Workshops

Learn and practice the skills you’ll need to navigate the job world! This workshop takes youth participants through the entire process of finding the job that is right for them, from interviewing to how navigate common workplace challenges.

This workshop is 7 weeks long and we ask that youth commit to attending all 7 sessions. Incentives are provided to all participants who successfully complete the program.

Groups

  • Youth pick the topics that matter most to them and Youth Development staff join them in created a range of group discussions and activities based on their ideas. Come have fun, learn to advocate for yourself, and socialize with peers.

Not a Number Groups

  • The Not a Number group empowers participants to stay safe in their relationships, employment, and communities. The group provides a safe space for participants to learn about different types of sex and labor trafficking, identify healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, and how to recognize and avoid unsafe situations.
Not a Number groups run 5-6 sessions and registration is required to promote safety and community building.

LGBTQ + Allies Groups

  • Groups provide a warm, confidential space for those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as people who would like to learn more about how to be an effective ally to their friends and family. Come connect with others, share experiences, listen, learn, and create a community together. Groups are open, although we recommend that you speak with a BTG team member before attending.

Consulting

Bridging The Gap Orientation Sessions
The BTG team will come to your site and hold 1-3 orientation and activity sessions for youth, staff, and families. All are welcome to participate and learn about the range of services and supports BTG has to offer. Sessions are led by BTG Youth Development staff and youth will have the opportunity to do onsite referrals.

“I was able to get these groups going, and I was able to help a lot of residents, and it was a good feeling.”

Bridging the Gap Youth Leader

Youth Leadership

Youth Leadership Council

BTG and the Crossroads Clinic launched the YLC in 2019, with the goal of bridging youth clients and organizational leadership. Come be a voice for yourself and your peers.

Membership is open to any youth aged 16-25, currently or formerly enrolled in services at The Jewish Board. Members are asked to attend meetings held the last Wednesday of every month. Dinner is served and stipends are available for youth and alumni participants.

Advisory Groups

Have a suggestion about how we can improve our services? Have an idea for a group that you would like to share? We care about your opinions and ideas, and we want to hear from you! Learn how to advocate for yourself and your ideas while building leadership skills.

Incentives are provided to advisory group participants in recognition of their contributions and expertise. BTG Youth Development staff can also partner with you or your program to create and facilitate a short-term advisory group at your site, designed to promote and engage youth leadership.
